Advancing Brain Health
Brain Health Initiative
Our overall health and wellbeing is intimately connected to the good health of our brains. Palm Health Foundation is leading a movement to advance brain health in Palm Beach County through our charitable funds and community initiatives.

Shared vision, determination, science, education, collaboration, and investment can transform a region and change the world.
Brain function is essential to every aspect of life, and more than 8 in 10 Americans are affected by brain health issues. With world-renowned brain science institutions in our backyard, Palm Beach County is well positioned to leverage our local assets and address this growing need.
In the 20th century, our quest to reach the moon gave rise to The Space Coast and dramatically accelerated our exploration of the universe.
Now, we are poised to realize a vision for
The Brain Coast as our next frontier.
The Brain Coast Vision is based on three fundamental pillars that will generate
a thriving brain health ecosystem in South Florida:
Deepening Brain Science, Education, and Resiliency Through Research
The Brain Coast will advance neuroscience research and push the boundaries of our understanding of the brain, resilience, and mental health.
Engaging the Community
The Brain Coast aims to foster an informed and proactive community that understands the importance of addressing brain health for healthier lives.
Spurring Innovation to Improve Brain Health, Mental Health, and Community Resilience
The Brain Coast will be an epicenter for innovation in fundamental brain and mental health research, encouraging the development of novel interventions for neurodegenerative diseases and mental illnesses.

Palm Beach County Neuroarts Collaborative
Neuroarts is the transdisciplinary study of how arts and aesthetic experiences can measurably change the human body, brain, and behavior. Palm Health Foundation has convened county leaders in brain science, the arts, and health to form the Palm Beach County Neuroarts Collaborative to focus on identifying and mapping local partners, programs, resources, and existing research to support the advancement of neuroarts in South Florida.
Brain Health Innovation Fund
Mental health funding in Florida is ranked 49th in the nation, yet we have remarkable assets to build on in Palm Beach County. Palm Health Foundation's Brain Health Innovation Fund is strengthening the local bonds between scientific research, community supports, and quality care to transform brain health right here in our own backyard.
Mental Health Scholarship Funds
Palm Health Foundation’s Mental and Behavioral Health Scholarships provide financial support for those seeking bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work, psychology, clinical mental health counseling, school counseling and other focus areas. Minimum scholarship awards are $2,500, and the average award is $5,000.
Mental Health First Aid Fund
Palm Health Foundation wants to put Palm Beach County on the map as a national leader in brain health advancement. Our efforts include promoting better brain health for our residents through the Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) program administered by
Alpert Jewish Family Service. MHFA teaches members of the public how to identify and help a person who is experiencing a mental health crisis. Since 2018, hundreds of residents have taken the training and now have the tools to help a neighbor in need.
Train the Brain Campaign
Palm Health Foundation established the month-long Train the Brain campaign to help Palm Beach County residents understand that taking care of the brain is just as important as taking care of the body. Throughout the campaign month, the foundation promotes brain health messaging and resources, and the community is encouraged to attend free experiential and educational events.
BeWellPBC
Palm Health Foundation supports BeWellPBC, a county-wide behavioral health and wellness collective impact initiative. The initiative's vision is for a community in which every person feels hopeful, supported, connected, and empowered.
